The impact of sin on the life of a believer is not by accident due to three formidable enemies arrayed against him. These three include the World (an evil system, 1 John 5:19), the Flesh (the believer's evil desires, Romans 7:14-15), and the Devil (an evil spiritual being, Revelation 12:19). The three join forces in a well-planned campaign to use sin to block a believer's spiritual development.
The good news is that he is not alone, because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33; 1 John 4:4), God has given the believer victory over his evil desires (Romans 7:25), and he has stripped the devil of his power through Jesus' death on the cross ✝️ (Hebrews 2:14). That is why it's so vital that a believer grows in Christ. The more he grows spiritually, the more the Spirit dominates the flesh rather than the flesh defeating him and thwarting the Spirit's work in his life. When a believer confesses his sins to God, he has the tremendous promise of his forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9).
May the Holy Spirit grant you the strength to overcome all the sins that are hindering your spiritual growth.
