Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. -Genesis 32:24
If you get alone with God, you will find it to be a place of revelation. Jacob was left alone, along with God. Hour after hour passed. He began to feel the presence of God. When he finally wrestled with God, he didn't let go until he received his desired blessing. Jacob said, "I will not let you go unless you bless me!" (Gen. 32:26). And God blessed him: "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel" (v.28).
The change of Jacob to Israel was wonderful! Victory all the time! Our God is building all the time. God is sufficient all the time. Some of the things that are responsible for the powerlessness of Christians today are because they stay too long with their relations, phones, books, and televisions, among others. Until we learn to be alone with God, victory won't come easy.
May the Holy Spirit guide us in such matters.
